Leaving my BIBO
I’m going on holiday, what should I do with my BIBO?

if you are going to be leaving your BIBO home alone for an extended period of time, it’s a good idea to turn the water and power supplies off. It will keep the date and time, as well as any of your programmed settings. When you get back simply turn the water and power supplies back on and dispense around 5 litres of water on the hot and cold side to flush through.

Power saving features
Are there power saving features on my BIBO?

Sleep mode

You can program your BIBO to enter sleep mode after 1 – 4 hours of inactivity. During sleep mode, your BIBO will continue to chill the water but the heating system will turn off. It can be woken up by pressing any key.

Power on/off mode

Much like your central heating system, you can program your BIBO to turn on and off at up to 3 different time intervals each day. During power off mode your BIBO will neither chill or heat the water and can be woken up by touching the menu key.

Power off
Can I turn my BIBO off when I’m not using it?

To maintain optimum efficiency and convenience we recommend leaving your BIBO plugged in and powered on every day but utilise its power saving features. This means you get the best of both worlds – the BIBO works as efficiently as possible and you get hot and cold water on demand!

Your BIBO comes with a standard two year warranty with the option to extend it for a further two years.

Installation locations
Does my BIBO have to be installed in a kitchen?

Not necessarily! Provided there is a water supply close enough we may just be able to install it where you like. Give us a call to discuss further on 01993 880287.

Installing outside of UK mainland
I want a BIBO but I live in the Scottish highlands or outside of the UK mainland

You can still purchase a BIBO but we cannot currently offer an installation service outside of the UK Mainland and in the following postcodes in the Highlands: HS, IV, KW, AB. Please note we can still ship BIBOs to these postcodes for you to arrange your own installation. In the event of a breakdown if you live in the above Scottish postcodes or outside of the mainland UK then you should return the BIBO to our HQ for repair.

BIBO showroom?
Can I see a BIBO before I buy?

You are more than welcome to pop into our showroom here in Oxfordshire. Otherwise, we offer a 30 day money back guarantee, so if in the first 30 days you change your mind for any reason, we will collect the BIBO and refund you – no questions asked, no quibble.

Granite worktops
I’ve got a granite work top – can you still install my BIBO?

If you have a granite or marble worksurface that’s no problem. Our professional installers have narrow diamond-tipped drill bits which can create an 8mm hole with no mess and no fuss.

Mains water pressure
What mains pressure do I need for my BIBO to operate correctly?

BIBO operates happily between 1 and 6 bar of mains pressure.

Water supply location
What if there isn’t a water supply near where I want my BIBO to be positioned?

That’s not normally an issue, as long as there is a water supply within about 20 feet. If you want your BIBO positioned further away than this then please do give us a call on 01993 880287 to have a chat about it further!

BIBO Installation
How to install a BIBO water cooler and how long will it take?

We allow approx. 1 hour for an installation. Your BIBO is simply connected to your mains water supply, normally found under your sink, and then the thin, flexible 6mm pipe is run underneath the worktop to supply your BIBO. Our technician will drill a small 8mm hole for the pipe to run up to the back of the BIBO. It’s that simple! you can also see how a BIBO is installed here.

Self-installation
Can I install my BIBO myself or do you install it?

BIBO has a network of experienced installers who can install your BIBO for you, to make it easy for you and to ensure a high standard of connection to your water supply. This way we can also make sure that we’ve explained all the features to you in person. If you decide to rent the BIBO then we are legally obliged to complete the installation to ensure it is completed under best practice guidelines.

However, if you wish to purchase the BIBO and want to install it yourself then you can! We supply you with a handy installation kit and full instructions. You can see how the BIBO is installed here.

Delivery timeframe
I've ordered my BIBO, when will it arrive?

If you have opted for self-installation then we offer a next working day delivery service on all orders placed before 1pm. If you have opted for installation by us then our BIBO technician will bring your BIBO with them on the day of installation. Your installation would normally take place around 7-10 working days from the date of your order!

BIBO Filter pack
What comes in a filter pack?

A filter pack contains your years supply of filters:

  • 1 x AC-XII filter – changed anually
  • 5 x descaling tablets
  • 1 x sanitising tablet
  • 1 x UV lamp
Recycling
Can I recycle the filters?

Yes, please do! Both the Maxi Filter and the UV Lamp are fully recyclable and you can just pop them in your normal household recycling.

Limescale
I live in a hard water area, will this be a problem?

Our filter has clever anti-scaling properties which will reduce the number of times you will need to descale your hot tank.

We offer a hot tank cleaning kit to descale your hot tank and we recommend you do this at least once a year. if you are in a particularly hard water area, you may find that you need to do this every 6 months instead.

Maintenance packs
What is the filter delivery service?

If you buy your BIBO then you will need to decide how you wish to buy your filters every year. The filter pack delivery service is an excellent way to make sure you receive your filter pack, each year, just when you need it. This hassle-free service requires only one payment a year, taken by direct debit and saves you over 30%!

Changing filters
How do I know when to change the filters in my BIBO?

The BIBO Classic is very clever and a message will flash up on its screen reminding you to change your filters. Once you have done this you just go into the menu and re-set the timer!

What is filtered from my tap water
What do the filters do?

BIBO filters your tap water using a multi-stage filtration system and then delivers it directly into your cup or glass, boiling or chilled. The BIBO’s filtration system uses a carbon block filter cartridge to remove contaminents such as chlorine, microplastics, herbicides, pesticides, heavy metals such as lead and protozoan cysts from your water to make it taste great, and intensively cleans the water to lower levels of many other contaminants. The BIBO Classic offers an additional level of filtration; a powerful UV filter ensures the water is completely free from bacteria. The processes your tap water undergoes in your BIBO are similar to those undertaken by the best water bottling companies – we’ve simply miniaturised it and added the convenience of chilled and boiling water.

Dispense height
Can I get a teapot, cafetiere or jug underneath the spout of my BIBO?

Yes, absolutely! Unlike similar products, both the BIBO Classic and the BIBO bar have been designed with a removable drip tray so that you can place items up to 23cm high underneath the spout.

BIBO dimensions
How big is my BIBO and will it take up much room on my worktop?

The BIBO Classic and BIBO bar are designed to fit neatly in a kitchen and slots easily underneath all standard overhead kitchen units.

36cm High

38cm Deep

30cm Wide

23cm from base to dispense nozzles

Black, White, Silver, Pearl, Dark Red, Bright Red and Cream. If you would like a bespoke colour, please call us on 01993 880287 to discuss.

Child saftey features
What child safety features does my BIBO have?

We really want to protect those little hands so the BIBO Classic has a child lock. When the child lock is on the hot water can only be dispensed once a separate ‘unlock’ button has been pressed and held down for 3 seconds.

Softened water supply
Can I have my BIBO installed onto my water softener?

We can safely install your BIBO onto a softened water supply. Artificially softened water is not necessarily bad for you. People on low-sodium diets are sometimes told to avoid artificially softened water because the softening process replaces calcium ions with sodium ions, but that doesn’t mean it is “salty”, and a pint of softened water might contain less salt than a slice of bread. However, water softeners are installed to provide water for washing, not drinking, and most people prefer to drink hard water because it tastes better. That is why it is normal to install one un-softened “drinking water” tap to the kitchen sink, which is fed direct from the mains, with the rest of the house taking its water via the softener.

Cold water temperature
How cold is the water when it is dispensed?

The BIBO Classic can be set as low as 4˚C. As the temperatures are programmable you can have the cold water set between 4˚C – 16˚C

Hot water temperature
how hot is the water when it is dispensed?

The BIBO Classic can be set as hot as 98˚C, with it’s auotmatic temperature set to 96˚C as this is the perfect temperature for making tea and coffee. As the temperatures are programmable you can have the hot water set between 70˚C – 98˚C

Dispensing capacity
How much water will my BIBO produce?

The BIBO Classic offers 7 litres of chilled water per hour and 15 litres of hot water per hour. The flow rate for both the hot and cold water is 1.4L per minute.
